September 1, 2015, Seoul, Korea—SK Planet announced that the company has entered into an agreement
with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to develop smart city services by incorporating IT into diverse urban
public services in the fields of public safety, tourism and many more.

The agreement on the smart city services was signed on August 31, at the Seoul City Hall,
in the presence of Choi Young-hoon, Chief Information Officer of Information System Planning
Bureau at Seoul Metropolitan Government and Lee Joon-sik,
Senior Vice President of Commerce Business Division at SK Planet.

The purpose of the agreement is to allow SK Planet and Seoul Metropolitan Government to
cooperate in the areas of IoT and Big Data to accelerate the development of urban public services
in Seoul in the areas of public safety, welfare, tourism, environmental preservation, and more.

SK Planet will share its beacon infrastructure with the Seoul Metropolitan Government,
which is expected to accelerate the creation of new business models by startups,
developers and other service providers and contribute to the creation of IoT ecosystem.
A beacon is a telecommunications device that can transmit data to a smartphone
– and vice versa – within a radius of about 50 meters, utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Furthermore, the two partners will launch public-private Big Data projects that require the sharing of public
transit and meteorological data of Seoul Metropolitan Government and traffic and weather data collected
through SK Planet’s T Map and Weather Planet. As part of the company’s efforts to encourage more startups
to join the projects, technical training and office spaces will be offered to those taking part in them.

Under the public-private partnership, SK Planet plans to offer ‘Bukchon Travel Guide’ service through
Korea’s largest mobile wallet service ‘Syrup Wallet’ which is preferred by 1.5 million users. SK Planet further plans to
develop experience-driven services by combining its services with Seoul Metropolitan Government’s
public administrative infrastructure. These services are expected to contribute to solving Bukchon’s urban problems.

Lee Joon-sik, Senior Vice President of Commerce Business Division at SK Planet explained,
“The agreement has opened up a venue for corporate ideas and services to be proved and commercialized.”
Lee also expressed SK Planet’s commitment to “promoting the creation of IoT ecosystem by providing
diverse startup and developer support programs.”

Choi Young-hoon, Chief Information Officer of Information System Planning Bureau at Seoul Metropolitan
Government explained, “Many cities are adopting the problem-solving process which involves the public sector
providing necessary infrastructure and the private sector coming up with compelling services.
” Choi further added, “We’re expecting an active involvement of those in the private sector including startups
whose fresh ideas and business models have the potential to solve Seoul’s urban problems.”
