Seoul, Korea, October 21, 2013—SK Planet today announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding
 with Moamom (CEO Ahn Joong-gun,
www.moamom.co.kr) to expand the scope of Near Kids (
www.nearkids.co.kr)
to include 39 childcare facilities in the workplace operated by Moamom, Korea’s largest operator of
 employee childcare service program.
Near Kids is a smart mobile-optimized childcare service that caters to the needs of all stakeholders:
Parents, who wish to keep their child safe at all times; nursing teachers, who wants to be able to focus
solely on child care instead of being distracted by inefficient paper work; and nurseries and childcare
centers that wish to build a mutually trustful relationship with parents through interactive communication.
Under the partnership, SK Planet will offer Near Kids to 39 daycare centers in the workplace including
National Tax Service, LG Electronics, Lotte Department Store, Korea Airport Corporation and Seoul Medical Center.
The key features of Near Kids such as real-time alert function, using NFC tagging for management
of child’s arrival and departure time and mobile-optimized screen layout will allow customers –
the majority of whom are working moms and working couples – to focus on their work, without having
to worry about the safety of their kids. SK Planet plans to expand the service to 100 work-site childcare
centers across the nation by year-end.
Near Kids is aggressively expanding the reach of it service. In just two months after launch in August
through Planet X, SK Planet’s in-house venture, Near Kids has signed up 100 childcare centers across
the nation beginning with Bidan Summer Hill Childcare Center located in Suwon. It is has also entered
into a partnership agreement with Woori Bank
to launch joint marketing efforts.
SK Planet intends to discuss partnership with local governments and large childcare center franchises
to expand the user base to 150 childcare facilities across the nation by year-end. Furthermore,
SK Planet will add on new contents relevant to childcare and education so that Near Kids can truly
become an integrated childcare service offering.
